A rotating, university-based National Office facilitates scientific planning and coordinates education and outreach efforts for the EarthScope community. The National Office, currently housed at Oregon State University (OSU) also organizes the EarthScope National Meeting and several scientific workshops held throughout the year. The EarthScope Observatories are operated and maintained as a collaborative effort by UNAVCO, Inc., and the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS).

EarthScope Committee Nomination

EarthScope needs broad participation from the geoscience research community to fulfill its promise. Nomiminations for EarthScope Committees and Thematic Working Groups are accepted annually for positions to become available. Two spaces are expected to open up on the EarthScope Steering Committee in 2010 (one immediately and a second mid-year). Please include contact information and a brief biographical summary with nominations. Please do your part!

Self-nominations are welcomed. Nominations for the current vacancy are due January 15, 2010.
